Brief
Participate in the Stanford Center on Longevity Design Challenge by working with a team to design something that will improve people’s health, social inclusion, and financial stability.
Research
We began our research by determining the basic steps involved in using the Fruiful Finds application. After identifying the parts of our system, we proceeded to develop different personas and an example scenario in order to find problem areas.
Concept
To provide all three improvements required, we turned to community gardens as they seemed like a largely unharnessed resource in many cities in the U.S. We determined that a mobile application which allowed users to find gardens in their communities, join those gardens, and begin providing fresh produce for themselves and their neighbors was the best way to utilize current technology and raise awareness of the benefits of gardening and eating local.
