The Associated Students Sustainability Program at CSU Chico educates the campus through workshops, competitions, and collaborations. In the two years that I designed graphics and outreach for the program, it has developed into a resource for all things sustainable. In my role, I worked closely with the project coordinators to determine the best method for delivering their message such as a social media campaign, printed materials like posters and flyers, or improved signage for events. In my final semester, I worked with the whole office to determine a direction for the image of A.S. Sustainability going forward including proposals for a change in name, a new logo as well as a refocus on the objectives of the program.

After considering the environmental impact of our outreach, I began thinking of ways we could conserve materials. With the digitization of records occurring across campus, the sustainability program was left with boxes of old filing folders. After proposing the project to a local screen printing shop, we were able to produce all of our posters on reused folders with non-toxic inks.
